Hi everyone, Ms. Rose here-
I am so very sad that we can't be together during this most important time in our Church year. I miss receiving and being physically present to Jesus in the Eucharist especially when we are re-entering into the days leading up to His most generous sacrifice. The one sacrifice that makes heaven a real possibility for all of us. Our diocese has made available to us some very good resources for our families to maintain the solemnity and sacredness of these upcoming Holy days. Please download and print the following materials, use them to create a proper celebration at home with your family. Or if you can't print at home come by the faith formation office after 10am on Saturday April 4 and pick up copies outside the front door, copies are limited.
Below are the materials for Palm Sunday thru Easter Sunday. Have your child(ren) answer the 'Conversation Starters' sections at the end of each service on a separate paper. These will be collected later and counted as attendance. If your child is really young you can ask them the question and write their answers for them or have them draw a picture as an answer. As a family do the 'Continuing the Conversation' section together.
Below is something you can read on Holy Thursday to show your children all the different people and their different responses to the truth that is Christ.
Below is a copy of the Stations of the Cross. It would be good to do these after the Good Friday Home Service. Make a point of having everyone in the house take a turn reading one of the stations.
